The Beer Hackett to Batcombe Bicycle Point to Point: Saturday 11 August. A feat of skill, speed, stamina and hopefully map reading. Entrance fee: £10. Proceeds to St Michael’s Church.

Sunday 8 July, 9.30am Common Worship for all in the church, with choir to celebrate this special occasion: families especially welcome. Come and help us raise the roof! Then on Sunday from 2pm: Village Tea Party in the church and grounds.Building on our friendly format of sharing refreshments to the laid back accompaniment of the Wriggle Valley Jazz Band, this year will see the introduction of new activities and competitions especially for families and children.

St Andrew's Church, Yetminster presents: The Gerry Colvin Band with a Folk and Country Concert, Saturday 7July 2018, 7.30pm at the church. Entry is £10 plus refreshments. In aid of the restoration appeal. 

Yetminster Fair Weekend: Saturday 14 July – 1-4.30pm, High Street, Yetminster. The church will be open and decorated with flowers. The Blackrock Irish Dancers will be dancing at aprrox. 3pm. On Sunday 15 July there will be a pet service at 10.30am in the marquee behind the White Hart pub.

Benefice Outing to Wells Cathedral: Thursday 28 June. Join us on this wonderful lay initiative to visit one of the finest buildings in England. Places on the trip will cost £18.60 per person, to include the coach fare and a discounted group tour of the cathedral. An optional tour of the Bishop’s Palace and Gardens will be available after lunch at a cost of £6.95 per person. The coach will leave Thornford Village Hall at 9.15 am and we aim to be back by approximately 5pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase at the cathedral café and the Bishop’s Palace, or you may wish to bring your own packed lunch. Places are limited and must be booked in advance. BATCOMBE CREAM TEAS SUNDAY 17 JUNE 3 - 6PM at HILFIELD FRIARY. TEAS, TOMBOLA, PLANTS, BRIC-A-BRAC

Beer Hackett Open Garden and Tea. Sunday 17 June, 2.30 – 5.30pm. Courtesy of Mr and Mrs Johnsen. Come and enjoy the arboretum, wild flower meadow, woodland walks and cottage garden at Manor Farm, Knighton DT9 6QU (just outside Beer Hackett). Entrance £5 including tea and cake. Proceeds to Beer Hackett church. Event will be signposted from A352 and the Yetminster road.

The Friends of Holnest Church will celebrate their second birthday in style on Saturday 23rd June, when they welcome the Theatre of Past Delights, led by local folk musician, Eddie Upton, to treat guests to an extravaganza of Edwardian entertainment in the idyllic setting of Holnest Church. The celebrations will begin with a BBQ and glass of fizz outside the church, where guests can enjoy a social occasion in the beautiful surroundings of the wildlife churchyard. New Benefice Office Hours: the office is now usually open from 9.30am to 12.30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays it is open from 1.30pm to 4.30pm.

Glanvilles Wootton: Songs of Praise. All are welcome at this service at 6.30pm on Sunday 10 June. The church will still be decorated from the village fete the day before.
