Saturday 16 February, 9-11am. Alweston Big Butty Breakfast. At Alweston Village Hall. A free child’s butty breakfast available with the purchase of an adult’s breakfast. Cards, preserve, cakes etc for sale, children’s activity table, food bank collection for anyone wishing to donate. A community event organised by Folke Church.

Saturday 16 February, 2pm, Jubilee Hall Yetminster: Film, Tea and Cakes in support of the St Andrew’s Restoration Fund. Join us to watch Lawrence of Arabia and feast on freshly made local cakes. Tickets are £10, from the Spar, Gallery café or Graham Plaice (01935 872 921).

Sunday 17 February, 4pm: Choral Evensong at St Peter’s church, Chetnole, sung by the Barn Choir. All are welcome.

Friday 1 March, 10.30am: The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Bradford Abbas. All (men and women!) are welcome at the annual service for the Women’s World Day of Prayer. This year’s service is inspired by the women of Slovenia and will reflect on the challenges which that country has faced in its progression from Communism to membership of the European Union.

Friday 8 March, 7 for 7.30pm: St Andrew’s Church, Yetminster. A concert given by the Sherborne Girls Madrigal Society and Chamber Musicians. Tickets are £10 (under 12s free), available from the Spar, Gallery café, Sherborne TIC.

St Hippolytus’ Church, Ryme Intrinseca: Textile Recycling Scheme. All clean/wearable clothes, bags, belts, hats & shoes (tied together) most welcome. Also, towels, blankets, bedlinen and soft toys but, please, no Duvets, pillows, curtains or pieces of material or rags.Please leave donations in bags in the church porch where they will be collected daily or call Gilly Wilson 01935 872 982 if you need other help.

Monday 11 February 2019, 7pm: former cabinet minister and biographer of Richard Nixon, Jonathan Aitken, talks about prison, rehabilitation, prison reform and faith. At the Jubilee Hall, Yetminster. Free entry.

The Weldmar Book of Remembrance will be on display. Refreshments to follow the service. Organised by Sherborne Churches Together, Weldmar Hospice, Marie Curie, The Yeatman Hospital and Cruse.

Community Breakfast in Glanvilles Wootton (DT9 5QF): Saturday 19 January, 9 – 11am. Breakfast is £5 each (children under 10 get a free breakfast with each adult breakfast purchased). With a bring and buy stall with produce, cakes, jams, books etc. Optional countryside walk from 8.30am for about 1-1.5 hours – bring stout footwear. More information from 01963 210 562. Mission Meeting is planned for 15 January 2019 10-12.00 noon in the Trim Room, Yetminster Jubilee Hall. All are invited to join George Moody and Tony Durkin to discuss how we, as a benefice, can approach mission.

Community Breakfast in Glanvilles Wootton (DT9 5QF): Saturday 19 January, 9 – 11am. Breakfast is £5 each (children under 10 get a free breakfast with each adult breakfast purchased).
